Not every page of a PDF is yours to keep
A contract is 47 pages, but only pages 3, 5, 7–12, and 31 are the terms that matter to you. The rest are boilerplate, schedules you don't need, or pages meant for the other party. You need a clean copy of only the pages you'll store or sign, without the extra weight.

Annotations stay; forms and bookmarks do not
Highlighted text, drawn markup, sticky notes — anything visible on the page — comes through in the extracted PDF. But extraction strips out fillable form fields and document bookmarks. If the original is a form with fields you need, fill it before extracting. Bookmarks (chapter links, outline navigation) are document-level structure that does not copy page by page, so they are lost.
Password-protected PDFs unlock automatically
If the PDF is encrypted, the tool asks for the password once, remembers it, and uses it to open the pages you're extracting. The extracted PDF comes out unencrypted — a readable file you don't need a password to open later. The original stays locked; extraction doesn't change it.

Can I extract pages in a different order than they appear in the PDF?
Yes. Select pages in any order you like — click page 10, then page 3, then pages 5–7. The extracted PDF contains them in the order you selected, not their original order. This is useful when you want to rearrange a subset of pages without editing the entire file.
What happens to form fields when I extract pages?
Form fields are removed during extraction. If the PDF contains fillable text boxes, checkboxes or dropdowns, they will not appear as interactive fields in the extracted PDF. Fill the form before extracting if you need those values preserved as visible page content.
Are bookmarks and internal links preserved in the extracted PDF?
No. Document bookmarks (the outline navigation panel) and internal links between pages are not carried over. The extracted PDF contains only the page content itself, because bookmarks are document-level structure rather than something attached to an individual page.
How do I extract from an encrypted PDF?
