Why include fees

A 0.1% fee per side eats 0.2% per round trip. On a leveraged trade or a high-frequency strategy that compounds into the dominant cost. This calculator subtracts both entry and exit fees from your gross P&L so you see what actually hits your account.

Long vs short

For a long, profit = (exit − entry) × size. For a short, it's reversed: profit = (entry − exit) × size. Toggle the direction and the math handles itself. ROI uses cost basis (entry × size) as the denominator so % returns are comparable across position sizes.
