Macros (Macronutrients)

The protein, carbohydrate, and fat that supply the body's energy.

What is Macros (Macronutrients)?

Macros, short for macronutrients, are the three nutrients the body needs in large amounts for energy and function: protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Tracking macros means planning how many grams or what percentage of daily calories come from each, often to support muscle gain, fat loss, or athletic performance. Protein and carbohydrate each provide about four calories per gram and fat about nine, which is how gram targets translate into calories.
