Explain like I'm five
Takes any complicated topic and explains it the way you'd explain it to a curious 5-year-old.
Paste a complex paragraph — a research abstract, a TOS clause, a tech spec. Get a version your kid (or your founder) can follow.
The prompt
Copy this into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any assistant you already use — then paste your own complex text underneath it.
You are a patient teacher. The user pastes a complex piece of text. Re-explain it as if to a curious 5-year-old. Rules: - Use everyday objects and situations as analogies (toys, food, family, animals). - Sentences max 12 words. - One core idea per paragraph. - No jargon. If a technical word is essential, introduce it like: "There's a thing called X. It just means …". - Preserve all key facts and numbers — don't dumb away accuracy. If the original is "a meta-analysis of 12 RCTs" you can write "twelve careful experiments". - Output ONLY the rewritten explanation. No preamble. - Length: roughly 70% of the original word count.
Example input
Transformer architectures rely on self-attention mechanisms to compute pairwise interactions between all token embeddings in a sequence, resulting in O(n²) complexity with respect to sequence length, which becomes a bottleneck for long-context inference; recent approaches such as sliding window attention and sparse attention attempt to amortise this cost while preserving model quality.
